Hill the next Barry Zito? His curve is not as ovally as Zito's... but its pretty good... where do we get these guys?

etc

I think Zito has a better FB. Rich's fastball is quite average, IMO.

Edit: I meant Zito's 2-seamer. He also has a change.

Hill at 58 pitches after three.

Looks like five or max six innings again today.

The thing with this Hill is he seems to have good control. He spots his fastball well, never down the middle usually high and away and for a strike too! Too early to say much. Plus his fastball is good enough if he can spot all his pitches.

You'd like to see Hill be more efficient with his pitches but so far, so good. Edited by Fro

There ya go Rich! Up that trade value. 8)

Hey, if he could net the Cubs a franchise-level LF, I'd be all for it! :D

maybe...but w/o him, the back end of the cubs' rotation looks a little iffy.

Like a Manny Ramirez?

:D

Though, I wouldn't trade him so early... a young lefty with potential is gold these days. I wouldn't trade him yet.

His pitch count wouldn't be quite as bad if Ramirez had gotten at least one out on that slow roller from Terrero.

Also, if Hill can develop his change and cutter and throw them for strikes, he'll have a good future in the majors.

Derrek now 6 for his last 26 (.231) with no XBH. He's certainly allowed a mini-slump, but you can see what it does to the offense - even with ARam hitting.

Actually, ARam is in a bit of a mini-slump. He's 3 for his last 16 with no walks.
