but raisin is a mod?

I know you're probably joking, but please don't take any cheapshots at anyone if they're not in the thread, fully aware that it's a joke, and okay with it.

I got in because of my good looks and charming personality.

I think you got in because you take up a quarter of the bandwidth and Tim figured you should pay that back in some way.

Honestly, Tim looked around for people who have no life and spend their every waking moment on NSBB.com. He figured since we spend our every waking moment on NSBB, we might as well make ourselves useful. :D

Of course, being a moderator also means to not be anymore controversial than I tend to get, and we also have to pretend as though we like you. :P

Of course, it helps that I have a doctorate from Southeasternwestcentral Illinois College of Moderation.

Thats why I could never be a mod. I get into too many altercations.

Immagine if CT and I both became mods. It'd be a race to see who could ban who first. haha

A scooter and some out-of-fashion clothes will do it.

Most have their masters in Moderating already. Of course, I didn't need a degree. I just showed up the day they opened the site.

Actually the secret is quite simple. You make a sacrifice to Modzilla, and if he/she/it likes it, you're a moderator. On the other hand, if Modzilla doesn't like your sacrifice, well, just think Bermuda Triangle. :D

And some people think The Simpsons serves no purpose in our society...

I sacrificed Enrique Wilson, but Modzilla wasn't pleased for some reason. Tough to impress him/her.

Oh well, my dream of being a moderator is deferred :(

Edit: Actually I think moderation powers are determined in sort of a BCS-style system. The moderators vote on a top 25 poster list each week. Also, the admins have their own poll too. Their polls are weighted with a group of other rating systems, including quality post points, humerous point posts, etc. Finally, the number of times a poster is warned either in a thread or via PM for pushing the line of offensiveness is added to their overall score. The persons with the lowest score when an extra moderator is needed have a faceoff in a hidden forum where they must argue a Cub related topic the best. After a two week period to argue, the thread is closed and a new moderator is determined.

Well then we need a Sticky thread with the weekly BCS poll of posters. Gives us something to strive for as posters, and would probably increase the quality of posts from those who aim to be "important" members of this site.

IMHO, all members of the NSBB community are important. I personally feel that message board communities tend to put too much stock in things such as post counts. A quality poster is a quality poster based on the quality posts, not the number of posts. Some of my favorite posters on this site have fewer than 2,000 posts, and many of that group have fewer than 1,000.
