He doesn't suck, he's a very serviceable SS just not what we were expecting as a starter. He's hitting in the .260s not .230 Corey was a worse. Atleast Neifi makes contact.

 

He's one of the worst hitters in the game, his OBP is criminal. I loved that HR as much as anyone(I was there, it was awesome), but people are saying that he's on fire when he's 2 for 8 these last two games. He's an awful hitter, plain and simple.

 

I said he was serviceable. Again, he wasn't suppose to be our starter. He has a decent bat and plays dependable defense.

its always relative because the most annoying commercial always seems to be what is on right now. for me right now its every commercial, promo, cut away, seque, etc. for ESPN 50*50 where they play that really lame song by Bryan Adams (is it Bryan Adams? if so, nice to have a Canadian singing the theme song for the series about the 50 states)

Come on, he's been sub-600 OPS for over 2 months. He's certainly not above replacement level.

Now that is an accurate statement. He is a back-up after all. And just to set the record straight. Hendry wasn't an idiot for signing him as a back-up.

 

And CPatt20, I know what you meant by he is "an awful hitter". But it is more accurate to say that he is an awful get-on-baser. As a hitter of the baseball, he isn't half bad. What he is terrible at is taking a walk. But I know what you meant.

I want (a good hitting) Nomar back, BADLY... but even those who are dead-set against Neifi for Cedeno or just don't like Perez, can't argue last night's GS and tonight's game-tying hit weren't the clutchest of clutch ABs. Those were HUGE.
