Well, I seriously blew my top today (the 24th) when Dempster allowed the Cards to tie it up after 0-2 on some bum with 2 outs , no one on. Incredible. Also incredible that Neifi freakin Perez came through. Cedeno better find some other things to talk to the bench about.

The fact that they won still doesnt change the way I feel about this year's team though...

Hopefully, Hill has a great day and shows that he is not only a K machine but an effective MLB pitcher.

Its my NSBB game thread debut! Too bad it comes at a time when I am totally bummed out by the team.

Neifi Perez wins the game with a grand slam??? Seriously, did anyone in North America expect that to happen? wow

San Fran is having a pretty bad year and they have a weak lineup. I like Hill's chances of shutting them down tomorrow night, and overall, we should be able to take 2 of 3 from them, if not sweep, IMO.

I hope they win Wednesday. I'm making my annual trip to Wrigley that day.

Losers have lost the last 5 times I've been down there. They better not make it 6 or there'll be hell to pay.

Noteworthy Match-ups (San Francisco Giants) Vs. Rich Hill (Lefty, 0-0 with 4.76 ERA)

No current Giant has ever faced Hill in the regular/post season.

Noteworthy Match-ups (Chicago Cubs) Vs. Jason Schmidt (Righty, 7-5 with 4.74 ERA)

Prediction Based On Match-ups: Kind of hard to decide, I mean Hill has never had a Major League start, and Schmidt isn't exactly "Cy Young" this season. I have all day tomorrow to decide so I might edit this part soon.

PBOM Record: 4-3

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure Hill is a lefty.

I really want Hill to be awesome. Hopefully the wind is at least nuetral, from his minor league numbers he really can't afford the wind blowing out.

Blind squirrel, meet acorn.

Dear Jim, please send Ronny Cedeno back to AAA for more playing time, and get us some bullpen and OF help that even Dusty can't mess up (e.g., not misusing Remlinger, not playing Hollandsworth every freaking day).

Positive vibes for Rich. A nice 5 or 6 inning start would be gold.

I'd be happy to see Hill succeeding in the rotation, with Williams working in the pen and Mitre getting some work in AAA.

I don't see that happening. Williams have pretty much solidifed his position in the starting rotation, either poeple like it or not IMHO.

Assuming Hill and Jerome cannot be in the same rotation is impliedly counting on Kerry Wood to consistently pitch. An error I don't plan to make till he throws 200+ IP in a season again.

This is a tough one to call. Schmidt has been better the last few starts although he definitely hasn't been lights out.

Alou certainly will probably jack a couple HRs when you combine 1) He's having another good year, 2) He likes to hit at Wrigley, 3) It's going to be very hot and humid, 4) Former Cub factor.

Hawkins will likely pitch well as well due to #4.

Rich Hill is an enigma and who knows what kind of control he'll bring tonight. The only thing for sure is he'll K a lot of people per inning.

I wonder what kind of reception Hawkins will recieve if he pitches sometime in this series. I fear it's not going to be too good.
