LaTroy is hitting 97-98 on the gun. What happened to him?

 

He was injured. I know the Giants put him on the DL

 

Probably angry at fans booing him and as a good player, you have to put that anger into your arm/bat..

Schmidt was low-mid 90's. But the strikezone got smaller with LaTroy than it was for Schmidt for some reason. Hmmm..

What I don't get is don't sinkerball pitchers normally take an inning or two to "warm up" and find their stuff? Why is Mitre pitching in the pen when his repertoire suggests that he is less than ideal for that role?

 

In seven starts, Mitre has given up 1 run in the first inning, 2 runs in the second inning, 4 runs in the third inning, 7 runs in the fourth inning.

 

Go figure.
