I'm really liking Murton. Nice to see him take a walk so that at the very least, Maddux won't have to lead off next inning.

base clogger! He's been on base 5 out of his last 6 at bats!

I knew this would happen after the second game of the series. The Cubs became obsessed with homers and are trying to drive everything out of the park. Meanwhile the gopher brothers Wood and Maddux would be serving up HRs like hotcakes.

You can never win with the Cubs..

Okay, this ump is a little strike-happy.

Does the ump have a big zone today? I'm listening to WGN while watching Gameday online and it seems like he's giving pitchers borderline strikes.

It is hot and humid today, making it more likely that blue has a big zone.

I'm going through some sports columns today. Here's one from the Sports Guy's column over on ESPN:

An actual e-mail from Vermont reader Devin Q. two weeks ago: "What about a reality-TV show titled 'I struck out Mark Bellhorn'? You gather random, unsuspecting people from the street to see if they can strike out Bellhorn from a major league mound. As a bonus, anyone who strikes him out gets $10,000 and can then attempt to better him in the field as well for added humiliation. The pilot episode would feature a 90-year-old grandmother with two artificial hips whiffing Bellhorn with 40 mph heaters, followed by Jerry Remy showing up Bellhorn in the field."

Dunn, Griffey and even Kearns hitting HR's is one thing but, when someone like Aurilia hits HR's its very frustrating. Aurilia at the tail end of his career and effectiveness has what? At least two HR's and 5+ RBI's this series? What a joke!
