Stupid question but is CSN, Fox Sports Chicago?

No, it's Comcast Sports Net Chicago. They bought Fox Sports Chicago I believe.

What? Burnitz in CF? Gerut leading off? Did Hairston really need a day off, especially after we were scoring so well with the lineup we've been using?

Over your last 10 games you got 8-2, why not just shake up the whole #$#@ lineup up.... see if you can loose 8 in a row again.

Burnitz in CF?!?!?

OK, bare with me for a second... All these trade talk have me thinking. Maybe we are getting a new LF soon and the Cubs want to get Burny acclimated to CF. Just a thought...

Something to consider...

Tomorrow is a day game, a lefty will be starting, and we have a big series coming up this weekend. Today is really a great time to give Hairston a rest.

Yeah your right. I'm stuck in Houston right now, and thought I could maybe catch the game at the Fox Sports Bar.

On to plan B...

I think I beat you to that one...

I think it's because with Dunn in right and Gerut in left Burnitz has to have a position somewhere...

How bloody STUPID is Dusty?

Put Gerut in RF BUT leave Hairston in CF & leadoff.

To answer that, bloody stupid is too nice for that kind of move. Burnitz should be in right and Gerut in center, I believe he has played some games in there when he was with the Indians. And for goodness sakes why isn't Neifi batting 8th like he should?

If we end up with Dunn (which I highly doubt at this point) he'd be left field and Gerut would be right in your situation I believe.

Burnitz played 33 games in CF in 2003 and 69 games in CF last season for the Rockies. I can't imagine his range is very good out there, but he does have experience. I guess the Cubs feel that he is a better option than Gerut in CF.

Good point, maybe since Gerut isn't 100% his range is limited. Burnitz is a great fielder, but his range is a little troubling being in center.

I'll be mad if Dusty doesn't give the regulars a day off during this upcoming heat wave. If sitting Hairston tonight is in preparation of the next week, then I think it's a good move (or if it's just a coincidence).

By the way, Burnitz has 140 career starts in CF.

Also consider if Baker wanted to give Hairston a day off, would you rather see Macias in CF and Burnitz in RF, or the lineup we have?

No reason to panic tonight. Now, if Hairston sits again tomorrow, all bets are off.

One ominous thing to consider: The last long winning streak we had, Baker started the same lineup essentially throughout. It was only after we won 7 in a row that Baker started feeling secure enough to screw with the lineup again...

Are we scoring 7 runs a game because of Hairston's .311 OBP, or because Walker is getting on at a .432 ahead of 2 guys who are mashing over .900 SLG ?? Good grief, Hairston has earned himself a day off. Unfortunately.... so has Hollandsworth. Burnitz in CF ?? Would you rather have Macias out there ?

Meh. This year Gerut has been a left handed version of Hairston, so I'm not opposed to him leading off and giveing Jr. a day off. It could hurt our defense but the offense should be about the same.

Once again, Murton went 4 for 5 the other night and now gets to spend his 2nd night in a row on the bench. Cedeno hasn't been seen anywhere. Why have these guys up on the big club if all they're going to do is get splinters in their butts?
