You think 5 wins in a row is a lot? Try winning 15 in a row, which would only offset your two biggest losing streaks of the year.

Bums.

The Cubs are the suckiest suck that ever did suck. Think you can stop sucking long enough to not suck? Eh, sucky?

Nomo sucks even more... but the cubs still suck.

The Cubs can't possibly lose this game. Not only is Maddux amazing in his first start after the All Star break, but Pat Fitzgerald, Steve Schnur, Darnell Autry, and D'Wayne Bates will all be there to sing the stretch!

OMG. I am a Michigan fan, but the 95 Northwestern team was something for the ages. In fact, that team was what got me into college football in the first place. They never should have lost to Miami (OH) and should have been undefeated going into the USC game.

Oh a related note, anyone have a scouting report on this Duke guy. What does he throw, how long has he been in the majors, etc.?

Ugh. What a disaster of a 4th quarter in that game. They got back on track pretty fast, though. I'm pretty sure I was at the Homecoming thumping of Wisconsin a month or so later. And I'll never forget where I was when they said on WGN that Michigan had knocked out Ohio State. I've still got the Wheaties box.

And Roast, you clearly don't understand the power of the '95 team.

I was at the Rose Bowl that year (on my birthday). Stupid Keyshawn Johnson. :x

Zach Duke throws an 88-91 mph fastball and a fantastic curveball. His third pitch is a change, but it's only average. He's a control pitcher and great against lefties. Murton better be starting.

I almost had Autry in my class when I was a grad student at NU. But alas, no.

BTW, a suggestion for the Cubs brass: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH WITH THESE $*&^^%*# SEVENTH INNING STRETCH GUESTS!!!!! ARGHHHH!

I'll be graduating with Autry, hopefully. He came back in the spring to finish up his degree and should be graduating next June.

Maddux's first start after the break last year was on Sat 17 July at Wrigley Field vs. Milwaukee. CUBS won 5-0 on a complete game 6 hitter (103 pitches) by Mr. Maddux.
