In exchange for Zach Day and AAA OF J.J Davis.

It's not official yet, the two sides have to work out money issues and Wilson must accept the deal.

Rosenthal says we could still get involved if it falls through, but I think the events that have taken place since last night would suggest that he's wrong.

Thank god. The Nationals can have him (not that Hendry will be a buyer anymore anyways).

A la Fred McGriff in 2001, it's conceivable that Wilson might ask for an extra year to be added to his contract in order to accept the deal.

He should just be happy that he's going to a team with a chance to compete and not worry about more millions. At this point in his career, you'd think that winning would be the priority, not money. Maybe not though.

Day looks like the classic change of scene guy. Decent ERA until this year, when it's close to doubled.

Davis is a low average/high power hitter from a glance at the stats. A move to Colorado might help the average part of that equation.

Overall, this doesn't seem like a great package for Wilson. But who knows what the Rockies wanted from the Cubs.

Since we are talking about Nats in this thread, I'll point out that in Rumor Central on ESPN the claim is that the Reds refuse to answer any phone calls from Bowden. Apparently, they have no desire whatsoever to help him out in any way.

I wonder what happens to Church now. He seems like the odd man out in the Nats outfield.

He can come here and ride the pine with Murton Cedeno and Greenberg!

They wanted Davis? Ha Ha Ha Ha!

We couldn't wait to get rid of him. And, the number of people we cut to keep him.

He's too lazy and doesn't woark for anything. Maybe some of his lazy fly balls will make it over the wall at Coors Field?

Thank god. Now we don't have to worry about Hendry getting him.

So who's the odd man out in Montreal? Church or Wilkerson? My guess would be Church.

I think Hendry should put in a call to Bowden for Church. I'm sure he's stupid enough to give him to us for a bag of balls.

I don't see how anybody would benefit from a change of scenery if the new scenery is Coors Field. Washington doesn't exactly play in the Baker Bowl.

True. But why would Colorado ever trade for someone with a 6+ ERA? They must hope there's something they can do differently.

I'm missing the boat on why Washington would even think about trading Church? He's hitting over .300.

If true, this is the best baseball-related news I've heard in weeks.

I think (hope) it was a joke
