Who are these naysayers you speak of.  I think the overwhelming majority of pundits, experts, media, and probably most fans know Chicago is a really good team. I don't see/hear really much of anything otherwise on a national level (I don't live in Illinois/Chicago).

I live in Wisconsin and believe me when I tell you, there are plenty of naysayers here!

According to NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Chicago "showed varying levels of interest" in offensive lineman Quenton Nelson, who the Colts ultimately traded to the Seattle Seahawks.

Indianapolis wasn't done selling as they dealt defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers, who the Bears also had interest in, per league insider Jordan Scultz. He added that Chicago has been looking for defensive line help and has been "linked" to Khalil Mack.

Ah, makes sense, assuming you’re referring to fans. I thought you were referring to media/pontificator type people.  Fans are gonna fan.

Ben Johnson was asked about Jaylon Johnson today and he said he has been up and down, but players like Daniel Hardy can get more playing time if they perform better. That’s obviously a warning shot that Jaylon isn’t guaranteed anything moving forward if he keeps playing poorly. But for Jaylon to lose playing time, Muhammad has to be healthy.

I'm wary of sending a 1st for basically anyone mid-season like this.

On the one hand, the Rams consistently send their 1st round picks away and have been competitive for championships for a decade, on the other hand, look at the 2026 Rams.

Simmons is under contract for 2.5 more years though

He has a current dead cap hit of $70 million. I would love him, but I don’t think the Titans would do that

Your looking at the wrong thing. That's what would happen if they cut him.

A good chuck of that is guaranteed salary that would transfer to a new teams books.

If Spotrac is accurate TEN would only be on the hook for his signing bonuses from 27 on, about 22 M.

Supposedly the Cardinals are asking for a 2nd round pick for Josh Sweat, and apparently the Bears have been in conversations with them.

Yeah, it's mostly fans. There are plenty waiting for Caleb to fail. It feels desperate to me at this point.

I would do that Simmons deal so quickly if TEN is actually considering it.

The 1st rounder they would get in return is likely to be pretty late in the round. I would think they'd ask for more. But ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I believe the three year extension he signed this summer doesn’t even kick in until 2028, so he’s under contract through 2030.

Oh boy. Did he just do that? I wouldn’t mind having him for another round. Can’t be worse than JJ.
