I take it that not reviewable or allowed to do now ? Nobody argued

I’m not sure. My guess is you can’t make an official challenge since it’s a judgement call but Counsell should have at least came out and talked to the umpires and asked them to discuss it

Antonacci is such a bitch.  Good player, but a bitch

Was it him that took a swipe at Contreras glove running to first

That what I was waiting for..

figured Kelly, Imanaga or Counsell would question it, it was so clear what he did

it's never been against the rules

Yes it is, batters need to make an attempt to get away from ball, not lean into it

EDIT

Under Official Baseball Rule 5.05(b)(2), a batter must make a reasonable attempt to avoid a pitch that is outside the strike zone to be awarded first base.

That should be illegal.

I hate stuff like that. If you want to be a badass and get HBP's, then wear it like a badass. You want to stick your little elbow out on loopy ass curveballs because you get protection, stick in the batter's box and swing.

I say this who still to this day dives out of the way of every pitch and hasn't been hit in a ballgame for three years running now. I am not a badass like that.

that's a myth, there is no rule saying you have to attempt to get out of the way

that's surprising considering I've never seen them enforce this rule in 30 years of watching baseball

It's such an impossible rule to call. It's easy with video to look at Antonocci and see exactly what he did. In real time, what is-or-isn't on purpose is a lot harder.
