Jerome doesn't seem as overweight as the reports made him out to be when we first got him in late May.

I believe he's lost some weight since he was traded. I'd guess in the time he was in Iowa, he could have lost 10 lbs., which isn't much, but is something. He was weighing in at 260 when he was traded.

Armas hasn't had to throw very many pitches in or near the zone late in counts so far.

This really sucks. How the hell do we only have one run and no walks off Armas!??!?

It's time to make a deal for Kotsay. Shift Walker back to the two-hole and our offense will actually be decent.

Latest in a long line of garbage pitchers who stake their reason for being on their ownage of our team.

He's not had a history of pitching well against the Cubs, though. I think he's 1-4 lifetime. I know, I know.....wins aren't a great indicator. But 1-4 lifetime is not good.

I'm not liking the way this inning is developing. Runners on first and third with nobody out is a good thing, but runners on second and third and one away with Corey at the plate and Neifi on deck does not instill much confidence that they'll get a run out of this.

And with that said, Corey pops up. *sigh*

And Neifi lines out.

Dear Jim Hendry: Please fire Dusty.

That half inning is Exhibit #8361 for why the Cubs are going nowhere fast this season.

they are going nowheres so fast they could still easily win the wild card

Damn Neifi. His fielding is everything his batting isn't at the moment. Effective, wise, swift.

Edit - This comment would have been longer, but I posted it rushing to see my cat falling downstairs and checking if it was alright

Amazing how much one's fielding can do to keep you in an important spot in the batting order a month and a half after you've lost everything you had at the plate.
