Ooh, this should be a fun series, except that it's on the West Coast and I will be asleep for most of it.

Despite the solid ERA Randy Vasquez was one of the worst starters in the league last year.  This year he's been legitimately good but with some luck layered onto that.

He probably still sucks?  But especially since he added some juice to his fastball I'm not super confident in that.  I'd rather have Boyd going either way but the degree varies.

Was Brown held out all weekend because he wasn't ready to go Friday and the other 2 games were blow outs or are we looking at him to finish games until Palencia is back?  I'm really curious to see how they deploy the pen with a lead right now.  Also, please get a lead to protect because that's more fun than trailing all game.

Honestly, I'll be happy if they can win one game. WC road trips are a beast. It's why JD skips them.

Hate to be satisfied with a 2-4 trip. And I really think the pitching match ups are pretty good for the Cubs. I wouldn’t be upset only winning 1 here. But I would like 2 of 3.

Appears the Padres are the opposite of Dodgers - stay away from the bullpen, make sure you have the lead going into the late innings.  Whereas, the Dodgers, you want to get into their bullpen.

My guess is they probably prefer having him ready for Boyds starts and now Assad will likely be the guy to backup Rea going forward.

If they can find a way to win tonight itll be big cause I like their chances to win tomorrow and possibly Wednesday too if Taillon can have a good start.

Keep em off the bases please.

Makes sense they would pair him with Boyd since he's so great at holding runners. I think Boyd calls his own game as well.

did not think it would take until game 29 for this to happen.

I didn’t think it would happen at all, except for an emergency. But it makes sense to do it with Boyd pitching. Maybe, had he not gotten hurt Mo would have caught sooner.

Glad to see Mo get an opportunity,  good to be able to give both Amaya and Kelly an off day against a RHer, also gets another lefty bat in lineup with Conforto.

Yeah I'm hoping this pairing is semi-permanent, you pretty much couldn't craft a better vet to pair him with in a lab.

JD dont do California, we get more Sutcliffe

I’ve switched over to the Padres feed. Boog and JD are more than fine together, Boog and Sut/anyone else is a difficult listen. MLTV.TV removing audio feeds this year is a terrible decision.
