Caleb Williams needs 260 yards next week to hit 4k

i have 0 regrets

But is it worth him playing next week? Wouldn't count out the Lions getting a little dirty... and Rome and Burden will definitely be out

Had Swift open in the flat

Not really, the safety, 6, was spying him and would've been on Swift the moment he caught the ball if not before.

I would be surprised if he plays more than a half. Might even only go for one drive.

If you’re only planning on playing him one drive, don’t play him at all

I really thought the Bears had them on that hook and lateral.  Gutsy call and it almost worked.

It was a great call, just wish Swift went right and got out of bounds. Bears might have had two plays instead of one.

Two plays, the Bears easily win, no way in hell the Niners stop them for two plays.

Hope Burden is ok. They probably would have won without those drops. Ugh.. get the 2 seed

True the drops were killer.  If Burden catches that pass, Ben doesn't use his 2nd TO to draw up a 4th down play.  I don't necessarily have any critique on how they used their TOs or clock management but it seemed at one point that time would absolutely not be a factor for us and ultimately it was which sucks.

Lose to the Lions then play the Rams

5 seconds left they probably go for 1 quick hit and then a 2nd play. 4 seconds left you only get 1 shot.

You dont think they could have run a 1 read play with 4 seconds? It's probably a little risky but if it's not there immediately throw it at the WRs feet.

I don’t think the Eagles are losing to the Commanders. The second seed is therefore on the line. I don’t think the Bears are sitting the starters.  I don’t think BJ is thinking about the Bears Packers rivalry or any of that mojo. He wants the higher seed.

I just don’t think Swift was the primary read, but he was very open

I really hope not.  what are we talking about with the 2 seed vs 3 seed?  The Packers will be well rested (resting their starters next week) and while we beat them, they just went an entire regulation where every single drive they had ended inside the Bears 10 yard line.  They are the easier draw for sure but as the 3 seed they might have a west coast warm weather team have to travel to Chicago to play.  Maybe not a huge advantage (we've seen SF take out a better GB team multiple times in recent years), but I would hope there is so advantage and maybe slows down their offenses a bit.  And then in the 2nd round you probably go to Philly, where the Bears have already won this year.

I'd much rather have the 2 seed but the 3 seed doesn't doom us or anything.  Losing more guys to injury could though.

Also remember the last time the Bears had a bye week, we were in the middle of the Brewers-Cubs NLDS series.  We've played 12 straight weeks of football.

Still images are tough to discern much from IMO.  From that photo guys are already breaking in that direction.  Imagine the uproar if Caleb throws short of the end zone with the game on the line and Swift gets stopped.  He also has a defender bearing in on him from that side, potentially right where Caleb would be throwing.  Maybe you're right with the full video, but based on that picture its inconclusive to me.

It's probably REALLY hard to execute, especially after the hook and lateral, but I was hoping for them to snap the ball and throw a quick pass immediately to the outside rather than spiking the ball.  Maybe you catch the defense not expecting the play, and if it's incomplete there might still be 1 second left on the clock.

I’m not saying it was a great call, but it might have ended up being the best
