If Rodgers plays. Bears 27 Steelers 26

If Rudolph plays Steelers 21 Bears 20

Mason Rudolph has had a longer NFL career than most 1st round draft picks

The Bears linebacking unit consists of preseason backups today. With the current injuries they’re as bad as any unit right now. 30 Points is more than doable for a Steelers offense who’s already done that 3X.

I just gave statistical reasons of why 30 points isn't very doable, but I'll take your word over the 3x being against defenses worst than the Bears, and 1 of those time scoring nearly half of those points on D.

But I think you overrate the LB position. Especially for this game. To exploit bad LBs, you either need to be able to run the ball well (the Steelers don't) or be able to exploit them in coverage with your RBs and TEs. The Steelers do carry 4 TEs and use 3 of them a ton, but 2 of those TEs (Friermuth, Jonnu) are glorified WRs. You aren't going to cover them with LBs anyway. The other is Darnell Washington who is a glorified offensive tackle. Not going to run free at the 2nd level. The RBs could give the Bears some trouble, but as long as they come up and tackle, they'll be fine in this particular game.

Rodgers is out

Interesting

well I think Rudolph is a definitive step down in quality, but also this team loves to roll over against back up QBs. Hopefully no repeats of the Ravens game.

Of course it’s “winnable”! The Bears are 3 point favorites!

the defense could absolutely collapse given the injuries and Caleb and co could fall flat on their face offensively, but yes this game is “winnable”

With as much doom and gloomy I've read from Bears fans, I thought in the minority about the Bears chances

Still pissed about that crap in Pittsburgh between the ref and Cass Marsh.

i'm gonna be a dumbass: I think this'll be the first comfortable win of the season for the Bears

Steelers historically can’t win in Chicago, no Rodgers, but the Bears have a ton of injuries. The Bears can’t rush the passer and are missing 5 starting defenders. I don’t feel good about this game, but Vegas has this as a pick ‘em.

Reverse Jinx power

I believe you were about to tell us about how you are frustrated that Trapilo isn't playing like an HOFer.

We are so lucky to get an INT on that early drive because maaaaan this defense is soft. They’re gonna get yardage all game.

Yeah they suck. Getting to the second level with ease
