Besides the Dodgers blowing out the Reds, all the games yesterday were great and entertaining. Chapman coming back and shutting down the Yankees was a chef's kiss.

Me neither, an excellent chance the Reds season ends tonight.  As much as I loath the Mets and find it completely awesome and hilarious they missed the playoffs.  They would have offered way more resistance than the Reds.  Reds haven't a single hitter you'd fear in a high leverage situation.

The Reds and Mets, at the end of the season, were equal, just with opposing weaknesses. The Mets pitching towards the end of the season was so bad it completely offset a good offense. In the 2nd half the starters had a 5.3 ERA, in the bottom 5. The Reds pitching OTOH was excellent. 3rd most fwar from SP and 10th in ERA for RP. Their offense was as bad as the Mets pitching.

Neither team was fit to face the Dodgers and that's why they fought for the 6th seed.

Assuming the Cubs can win this series and outlast the Brewers, I would love the Phillies/dodgers series to go the distance and those team beat the hell out of each other. Cubs would clearly be the underdog against either team, but that just means they have about a 45% chance of winning it. I would take that.

Schlittler, a seventh-round pick in 2022, is a lanky 6-foot-6, and he sat right around 90 mph during his three years at Northeastern. Even this April, he was sitting 94-95 mph in Double-A. On Thursday, Schlittler hit 100 mph 25 times and averaged -- averaged -- 98.9 mph with his fastball. His rise can best be described as meteoric.

Thats insane.

I assume this is referencing the fact that the Yankees are the first team to win the 3 game series after losing the first game?

Yankees out. There is a pretty decent chance we will have an all west coast WS.

I dont know about this. I like Toronto over Seattle, who hasnt advanced yet, and the Brewers kicked the crap out of the Dodgers this year. We also won our series against them. It doesn't mean that will happen again but I will not be surprised if the Dodgers do not make the WS.

This Tigers / Mariners game is intense.  14th inning, both teams have had golden opportunities spoiled.

The offense in this game has been so pathetic it'd be hard for me to be mad at the Cubs hitting ever again.

Don’t care who wins out of Toronto and Seattle.

But Dodgers in 4 or 5 would be nice. I don’t want to feel like this year is a missed opportunity with Milwaukee winning this series. So a nice crushing by LA would be nice.

Brewers experienced a solid starter yesterday and they folded like a tent.  Absolutely no offense.  2 hits.  I was actively switching back and forth so I didn't see the whole game or even close but I haven't seen much of that from the Brewers.

It's not going to get easier either.  They have a well-rested Yamamoto tonight.  Sub-3 ERA, .99 WHIP.  If they go back to LA down 0-2 I'd expect they'll be swept or maybe 4-1.
