Happ and Hoerner have really saved our butts.

And the next time Happ has a bad week the meatballs on twitter will forget about it and crown him history's greatest monster again.

I saw a guy get thrown out at second when he tried stealing and the batter walked. I think it was Ronny Cedeno or Jose Hernandez. He ran on what ended up ball 4. Catcher threw down and the runner was out because he over slid the bag and was tagged out AFTER he got to second on the walk.

Seen that happen a couple times as well, also saw a runner duped and came off bag to go back to first and was tagged out..lol

Never can understand the Happ angst. It happens every year. You honestly would think people haven’t even seen him play. I don’t get it.👍 He is a solid, but a little bit of a streaky player.

I hope Boog has an incredible speech prepared for when the Cubs do clinch a postseason berth. Otherwise it would be disappointing since he’s mentioned the magic number about 37 times since yesterday.

Civale has turned into a good claim by Hoyer

Come on now. Jed is an idiot. He can’t make good moves!!! I am pretty sure that is the belief of a lot of people here. To be honest, he had a very good year with regards to trades and signings.

Yes.  Only 3 games, but he's been great.

I don't really buy into the streaky thing normally, guys aren't going to 1/4 every day, but even I'll admit that Happ has his ups and downs, which makes it even more hilarious that he's essentially a metronome when it comes to full year production.

You know I wasn't super excited about clinching the playoffs mostly because its been pretty much given for awhile now but sitting here 6 outs away I am getting hyped.

Always more fun to clinch on a win. I will remain nervous until there are fewer outs needed than runs the Cubs are ahead (I like to call it the 2003 Alex Gonzalez syndrome).

At least he’s not that Dansby Heyward guy. Don’t get me started on him and his money.

What's Nico's OBP this month, including today?  Must be close to .500.

I've got .463 currently. .452 going into today (28/62) and then another 3/5 on top of that.

In 7 years with the Cubs Heyward put up 7.2 fWAR. In three years with the Cubs, Dansby has put up 12.5 fWAR.

You know what?  I don't really care about clinching, either.  But, more wins would definitely be better, because my guess is that both the Dodgers and the Padres will win 89~91 games.  We need home games, when we face them.  The Padres might pass the Dodgers.
