Took a break from the endless exercises in futility known as Cubs’ at bats.  Good to see nothings changed, Horton though, what an awesome surprise, I was down on him early, my mistake.

Surprised to see Horton in the 7th.

I’m not watching too closely and I’m very aware they have much more advanced tracking mechanisms than just ‘how many innings has he thrown this year’…but he’s also maybe the most important player for the cubs to make a run in October so I’d prefer to lean on the cautious side with him whenever possible.

Yea, im confused

He had a no hitter and was pulled at 75 pitches,  today he gets 87 pitches 🤷‍♂️

I am new here, but far from new to Cubs Baseball... going on 5 decades as a hard core fan of the "loveable losers".

In all that time, I can not recall a more impotent offense that what we have seen in this 2nd half.

Just stating the embarrassing obvious.

Excited about Horton and seeing how he can follow up this season next year but as I was looking at what the rotation could look like next season, I didn't realize both Boyd and Taillon were both still under contract for another season.

So the rotation looking to be the same as this season with Imanaga Horton Boyd and Taillon.  Steele is projected to return in May or June, so they will need a 5th starter until then which could be Assad or one of Civale Soroka or Gomber if they choose to bring anyone of them back as depth and or for the pen.

So yea, I think we're going to probably see a quiet offseason and possibly be sellers at the deadline with moving guys on expiring contracts.
