Well. I for one am not throwing in the towel at this time. Imagine our rotation if Steel hadn't got hurt? More Cubs bad luck there. Baseball is a maddening sport and being a Cubs fan definitely amplifies that sure.

Tucker is in a slump but he'll pull out of it

Didn't we get Castro specifically as a guy that could hit LHP? Or have I had that backwards the whole time. I feel like you could parse his stats in different ways to make him seem good in all situations but ultimately he adds up to basically league average.

I think Castro has even splits.

I've got 23rd per FG. And 14th in wRC. So mediocre and unlucky, but not terrible. But also not trending in the right direction.

29th since the ASB.

I respect you for it.

I hope you are right.

This collapse seems to be worse than all the others we’ve seen.  It’s abysmal.  I loathe this team right now.

This team has been a sad sack of losers since 2018.  This is now 3 seasons in a row with at least a month of this team going through a horrendous lineup-wide offensive slump .  Even good teams slump but this is ridiculous, they need to find a way to grind through and stop letting seasons slip away.

If this doesn't change soon they may need to ship a couple guys out this winter to change up the lineup.  Happ, maybe Seiya.   Something needs to change.  Win or GTFO.

Today in the 8th they were down by 1 run, had men on 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs and couldn't score.

I just got back from a two week trip where I was off the grid, but if I got some cell service I'd at least check in on what's going on. I'm glad I was gone, because I'd probably be losing my mind right now, too. Yesterday's game alone made me want to quit watching baseball for awhile. Nice to see the Brewers haven't lost since they last played the Cubs.

Minus 2016, we can never have nice things. Feels like the whole team died the day Ryno passed.

You really think theyre going to extend Hoerner after 2026?

he'll either get traded at 2026 deadline depending on how team is doing or he'll just  finish out the year.(more likely to happen)

I don't know, but a lineup of swing-and-miss guys isn't going to go very far.

I'm fully expecting to lose the series against Pittsburgh, somehow win 4 of 5 against the Brewers, but then suck out loud again after that series

it would be so so funny if the cubs figured out a way to only win 83 games this year but i think they've built up too much of a cushion to let that happen

anyway i hate this team and they hate me

I know they’re struggling but that’s a bit of a stretch, Come on. You really think they’ll win 15 more games?

15-27 the rest of the way?  Unlikely.  That’s playing at White Sox level for a month and a half.  But, never say never.  There are different ways to frame it.  For example, it’s basically losing 2 of every 3 game series….which is what we’ve been doing recently.

I’m being sarcastic. But I’ve seen this movie so many times. Until Tucker gets out of his funk this is a carbon copy of the 2023 team with a struggling rookie PCA on top of it. As a Cubs fan, everything will be OK isn’t a frame a mind I’ll ever have.

See that’s the special sauce Cubs PTSD, for which there is no effective therapy.

No demons have been exorcised since 2016. We had the 2018 power outage, 2019 9 game losing streak, 2020 and 23, whatever you want to make of that… No cure. We aren’t the Redsox. It’s not like we have the Bears or any other team to lift our spirits exactly either.

Well no, but we have zero idea who going to be on their roster after 2026.

I dont think theyll trade Hoerner this coming offseason, I just feel 2026 will be his last season with the cubs and depending on how the season going, they might look to move him at the deadline or just let him play out the season.

Probably a bunch of prospects so PTR can maximize profits.
