None of Caisse, Alcantara, or Long in today's lineup for Iowa 👀

That is interesting.

We had better be getting Eury Perez lol

Even if this is trade related, I wouldn't interpret it as all three guys are about to be part of one potential deal.  I'd interpret it as there are multiple deals close enough to the finish line to warrant this caution.  Probably with a good deal of either/or in place.  E.g. Caissie to the Pirates (for Keller) or Alcantara to the Marlins (for Alcantara).

Agreed. Would be fun to see Alcantara for Alcantara. Bet there has never been two guys with the same last name traded for each other. I do kind of remember years ago the white Sox trading for a guy that they mistook for another guy with the same last name. Don’t remember the exact details, but it did happen.

Yeah,  I didn't know exactly how to highlight that I was joking in text.  If it's Caissie for Keller however,  I riot.

Definitely would have to be a record for length of identical last name in a trade for each other while both being over 6’5”.

Rojas on base 4 time today.  Just looked it up and looks like he's the 5th youngest hitter in AA this year.  If he has a good two months at Tenn to close out the year hard to see how he's not a top ~30 overall prospect over the winter.

It was the James Baldwin trade to the Dodgers. They acquired a prospect named Jeff Barry, but meant to acquire a player named Jonathan Berry.

Lumpuy continues to rake, 2/2 with a triple early on

And Yahil Melendez got lifted after one at bat.  Probably injury, but you never know this time of year.

This pitcher for MB is gassing the ball past the hitters. He’s got some awful mechanics but he’s mowing them down. One hit threw 6

Are you meaning the starter, or the reliever?  Romero pitched the first 4; Martinez-Gomez the 5th-6th.  Maybe you're meaning the second guy?  Or are they maybe both pretty fast?

Lumpuy's got his OPS up over .600, and his batting average isn't far below .200 anymore.  Progress!  I hope he keeps progressing during the remaining weeks.

Southisene has gotten his average over .200, and his OPS up to .588.  So progress in his case as well.  His BABIP is only .264; not sure whether that reflects some bad luck, or just reflects that he doesn't hit the ball hard or on the nose very often.  Would love to see him emerge as a competitive enough hitter to become a prospect.

Rojas up to .189 average and .549 OPS.  Hasn't been a fast start for him, that's for sure.  Small sample, of course so one 3-for-5 game with a HR could make all those Knoxville numbers look better.

I think it was the 2nd guy.
