I love how good they are vs RHP but there is definitely a trade off there vs LHP.  Hopefully, they can figure something out.  This team is actually constructed pretty similarly to the Phillies when Steele is healthy.

Why i agree with you in that as much as im rooting for Shaw, I think Hoyer might have to go get a big RH bat ( hopefully Suarez) to help Suzuki and be that other threat from the right side to keep teams honest and from loading up with lefties to face the Cubs LHers.

To be fair to the Cubs, they have the 20th best hitter against LHP in baseball as well as Suzuki. It's just that it's a lefty, in Kyle Tucker.

Umps really helped us out with Ramirez. First pitch was a ball and he probably didn’t go around on the second pitch. Should have been 2-0 instead of 0-2. I’ll take it.

If they do, + a good SP at the deadline, I straight up think this team is as good as '16, whether it works out or not.  I'll take their chances against anybody.

Happ is hitting .233? Yeesh

In his defense, he's been very unlucky. He's running a wOBA .23 points below his xwOBA and a BABIP that would be the lowest of his career despite having strong batted ball data. He's been better than a .233 batting average suggests.

Bats are just not charged tonight , likely not but maybe they came into tonight looking ahead to the Cardinals series and just wasn't ready to go.

Reluctantly Pressly is probably the best option here but I hate it

Of course he gives up a leadoff baserunner..

Thought maybe they'd go with Keller or Hodge here.
