How did we go from hitting as well as we did last weekend in Cincinnati to 9 runs in 32 innings at Wrigley, today with 2 base runners in 5 innings?

I don't want to turn this game off because Cubs/Reds always seem to be wildly swingy games and this team could easily rattle off 6 runs in an inning.

At the same time, yeesh.

Fraley crap ass hitter except against the Cubs, don't mind Reds better hitters doing damage.  Garbage like Fraley is annoying as hell.

The Reds certainly are not regressing to their mean in facing our pitchers.  What is that 6+ runs in every game?

Nothing more irritating than bums getting homeruns off of us.

See how many more meatballs they swing through, pop up, etc.  But, it'd be nice if the Cubs could make them sweat a bit maybe, get the tying run to the plate.

Bats were due to go into a funk, just hate when they all go at once just like I love when they're all hitting together.

This rotation isn't good enough to hold up their end when the bats do crap the bed all at once, as they don't have that guy who can hold opponents down consistently to give bats a chance at least late in games.

Imanaga should be back in about 3 weeks which will help alot, and he'll probably replace Brown in the rotation, especially if Horton keeps improving with each upcoming starts.

They're going to eventually need to trade for another top end starter to replace what they lost in Steele, and my guess is that guy will replace Rea in the rotation so he can go back to the bullpen.

Imanaga,  new starter, Taillon,  Boyd, and Horton  should be good enough to roll into the postseason.

Of course any upgrade to the bullpen amd the bench at the deadline would be more then welcome.

JD wasn't kidding about the Reds vs LHP they're just feeble.  A strike throwing Cabrera isn't bad, would love to see him carve up the horsefeathers Fraley.

Just one of those games you know was going to play out this way during the first inning.

I'd agree with you but I felt that 3 times last weekend and the Cubs won 2 of them.

But the added factor of being at Wrigley where Cubs bats go to die the last 2 seasons made it especially difficult for them.
