Horton is going to have his first dominate start of his young career, Tucker and Shaw will continue to mash.  Cubs pick up another game on the shitbirds.

Max Mayer has been pretty good, strong K and BB rates, but when people connect, they hit it hard. Cade really hasn't been (though he's one to improve rapidly), and despite the clear difference in line up strength this is one of those games I wouldn't be too upset about. Only problem is that we already had that game this series, and so I'd strongly prefer a win.

What would constitute a good outing for Cade Horton tonight? A quality start? A no-hitter? Personally, I'd settle for a "Maddux".

2 ER over 5 IP.  Equals 3.60 ERA on the day.  I can live with 3 ER over 5.

Wonder why they're bunching up the LHB like that today?

Marlins only have one lefty in the bullpen, Cade Gibson. Gibson threw 33 pitches last night.

My guess would be that the Cubs are sure Gibson won't be a factor in the game because of that and they can easily get away with it.

The Marlins only have one LHRP and he threw 33 pitches last night, so I'm guessing that Counsell is betting he's unavailable and there's no platoon matchups they need to plan around.

yeah, with runners on it seems like pitchers are more likely to stay in the zone, and PCA is awesome when he isn't chasing up or off the plate

Then that top of order needs to do what it does best and get on base today so PCA can have a great day

Giving up some hard hit balls, but the defense is helping him out

It's the BB to Lopez that was key, just go after clowns like him.
