Going to really need a nice, long outing from Brown today. If we're trying to avoid relievers going three appearances in four days, you're already down Palencia, Thielbar, and Pomeranz, and would expect we're not going to see Pressly. Merryweather can go, Hodge and Keller pitched yesterday but could most likely go, Hollowell pitched over 30 on Monday but not last night so probably, and not sure if Flexen can go back to back like this.

Brown looked great last time out, another one would be great. Otherwise it might get ugly.

With the heavy bullpen workload recently; wonder it that skews things even further to a Horton callup instead of a bullpen day for Shotas next start

Flexen being used like he was last night leads me to believe we see a Horton call up to start Saturday.  But I don't really know anything so take that with a grain of salt.

Seems like a good chance Horton comes up.  Wicks started today so won't be available on Sat.  Either Horton or a pen game where maybe Fkexen would give you 40-50 pitches.

Good day to get Busch a day off facing a lefty and with Turner's career numbers.  Ray isn't quite a death to lefties type of LHP but does have better numbers vs righties and Busch has not been so great lately outside of the grand slam (4 for his last 34, 1 XBH, 11 K)

My apologies to PCA; Ben Brown is definitely the biggest redneck on the team

You thought the kid who grew up in southern california to two successful actors who went to a high school that cost $50k a year is a redneck?

This is the result of pitching 85% of the staff for one inning in the same game.  Guys need to go 2-3 innings, and then rested for 2-3 days, keeping just about all of the pen available every day.

Agree to disagree

Didn't he grow up in Los Angeles and his dad is from Naperville? That doesn't necessarily disqualify him from having redneck vibes but it certainly is not a point in your favor.

He just strikes me as a guy who spits his tobacco juice into a Mountain Dew bottle
