More support for D. Lee. This time from Rick Morrissey in today's trib.

Fuzzy-thinking people will continue to vote for St. Louis' Albert Pujols in All-Star balloting. Pujols has more than twice the votes Lee does among National League first basemen.

There are only two possible explanations for this. One, Pujols is getting votes based on his reputation. Two, Cardinals fans have nothing else to do except fill out ballots, count victories and wait for the humidity to arrive.

No mention of Nomar leading at SS I see...

This debate is getting silly. Lee deserves to start. Pujols deserves to be a starter also. And you know what... THEY'RE BOTH GOING TO START!!!

Slow day for me. I was only able to vote for my favorite Cubs 100 times.

As well as get those votes in for Pokey Reese, AL shortstop.

Haha...quit spending time with Addison...there's plenty of time for bonding and being care taker once voting stops!

You can vote up to 25 times per email address. Also be sure to write in Jason Dubois in the outfield.

I've voted nearly 500 times, so I could use your help.

Vance, You're the man! Not only is voting 500 times impressive but having 20 email addresses is even better.

We all like to say that there are more Cubs fans than any others in the country. Now, let's prove it!

Getting email addies is easy. Just keep registering for new ones at yahoo. It takes a couple of minutes. I highly reccomend it. I'm going to keep doing my part, but I need the troops to rally behind me.

Remember the plan is three fold.

1st get Lee his AS start he deserves.

2nd write in votes for Neifury. (And in my case, Dubois)

3rd sabotage the AL team.

I reccomend the following:

1st- Erstad

2nd- Bret Boone

SS- Pokey Reese

3b- Aaron Boone

DH- Take your pick: Pickering, Giambi

OF- Juan Gonzalez, Dirty Sanchez, Emil Brown

Is it even really necessary to register the email address? I mean, can't you just type in any random email address and vote? It's not like they send you a confirmation email or anything. Whenever I have to put in an email address for something and I don't have to confirm anything, I just usually use no@shutup.com or something like that.

Have they released an updated vote count since June 1st?

I don't know. Last year they sent confirmations. It doesn't take me long to register a few new ones and then go vote.

BTW...total votes for today --> 200

The enemy (cardinal fans) are circling their tractors around Albert Pujols. The self-proclaimed "most knowledgeable baseball fans in the world" are ignoring who has the better BA, OPS, Gold glove and number of clutch hits and are promoting a stuff the ballot box initiative for Pujols. Don't let them get away with this. Send a message to the Hill billy Card fans that you are more knowledgeable about baseball than they are and will vote for the most deserving player. Let them stick to tractor pulls and square dances - where they are more qualified. In Chicago tradition, vote early and vote often for D. Lee!

While at the Cubs/Padres game on Sunday, I grabbed a bunch of ballots and started punching. I voted for Derrek every time, of course.

I struck up a conversation with the woman seated next to me, and, as it turned out, she was a Cardinals fan. When she saw me filling out a bunch of ballots, she went and got some herself. I asked if she was going to vote for Pujols even though Derrek was clearing having the better season, and she balked at the suggestion that Lee was indeed having the better season. As I was listing off all of the offensive catagories in which Lee is outperforming Pujols, Derrek snagged a sharp grounder and turned the always difficult 3-6-3 double play to end the inning. As Lee was jogging off the field, I finished by pointing out that he is a better defender than Pujols and won the gold glove in '03. She backed off her statement that she would vote for Pujols saying, "I'm not sure I want him to go, now. You know, he might get injured." I bet she still votes for him anyway, though.

While she was out getting popcorn, an usher came by and offered me more ballots. I took a look at the stack that she had and said, "Give me what she's got." All in all, I think I filled out close to 50. I dropped them in the ballot box personally.

Go Derrek!

Why in the hell is a Cardinals fan at a Padres/Cubs series?

Lemme guess.. she was wearing all of her Cardinals crap, too?

I sat next to some on Saturday. They were drunk, threw stuff after Neifi hit a HR and got kicked out. :)

They're probably there to boo the Cubs.

Probably the same reason why this Cubs' fan went to a Tampa/Boston game earlier this season - because I like baseball and I was in Tampa. Maybe she likes baseball and happened to be in SD this weekend. No big deal.

If I'm on vacation somewhere and there's a major league game being played there I'm likely to go to it. Just because it isn't a Cubs game doesn't mean I don't enjoy going to it.
