Exactly. Big news at this convention is Sosa is back and a new uniform. I am not sure which I care less about. But convention goers love it.

Jordan Wicks looks skinny.  Hopefully that means that he can regularly throw north of 93 without his obliques turning to ash.

I saw a group photo of some of the team with Sosa and he was the only one I couldn't figure out. He looks different without glasses/rec specs ha.

Speaking of the group picture. Who is the guy next to Wicks, with the glasses? I couldn’t name half the guys in the photo I saw with PCA right in front.

I always imagined the average attendee thought the team needed more heart and grit, not those overpaid guys who don’t always sprint to first.

I thought it was Keegan Thompson with glasses but it might be Ethan Roberts?

He was rocking a small pot belly last year wasn't he?  Agree wouldn't hurt if he came into camp in better shape this year.

Did we hear anything about the Nico's surgery recovery this weekend?

All I heard was that it bothered his throwing the most last season.

Nothing concrete, but on one of the panels a kid asked a question about who would start the season at 2B if Nico wasn't ready.  I think it was Carter who responded with something like "Have you asked Nico if he's going to miss Opening Day", implying that Nico is progressing under the assumption that he will be ready to go.

I have to admit that I watched almost all of the Cubs Convention coverage over the weekend.  One of my takeaways was that I was really impressed by how Matt Shaw came across in interviews and on panels.  Not that it says anything about his future performance on the field, but he was very well spoken and just seemed really comfortable for a 23 year old second year pro.  He came across as a likeable guy and someone who will be easy to root for.  Let's hope his on field numbers match the off field presence.

They revealed Nico hasn't started throwing or hitting yet post- surgery.  But that doesn't mean anything i guess.
