Every report and rumor I've seen indicates Poles is safe.  Best we can hope for is he's sidelined by new coach

Yeah. Nothing is leaked, but there seems to be some obvious undertones that he's getting kicked. Of course, there are also undertones that he isn't going anywhere. But, this was a god awful embarrassing season and he isn't worthy of an extension, and some of the better coaching options aren't going to want a lame duck GM in charge of their future. Ben Johnson has pretty much already stated such. He wants stability wherever he goes, if he even leaves Detroit. 

I'm sad it hasn't already happened. It is only 6:15am, but hell, we are waiting..........

Schoen staying in NY as well.

 

Balke somehow stays in Jacksonville which makes all the Johnson smoke there pretty interesting.  Two of the most talked about landing spots for Johnson with possible lame duck GMs (not sure Balkes contract situation).  Though Kahn says the coach will report to him.

Eh, I think there were enough reasons to blame the failures on Eberflus alone at that point but the craptastic finish to the season revealed more roster holes than it was initially believed there were.  I don't think it's likely he's fired unless Warren decides he really wants Johnson and that's the deal breaker, but it's certainly a feasible possibility.  I'd put it in the area of 67/33 retained vs fired.

They have to fire Poles (if they are going to do it) before they do a coaching search, so if it isn't today, it will likely not happen.
