Ha ha! Macias and Neifi on the left side of the infield in Game Two! Between the two of them and Blanco, it's good to see we're only going to the plate with 6 hitters (including Prior).

Who wants to take odds that in Wednesday's DH, Dusty trots Perez out there for both games, gets Macias a start, but Dubois and Fontenot sit on the bench?

This is so maddening and frustrating, I feel helpless and pissed off all at the same time. Dusty has to GO!!!

Except for the Dubois part, you were DEAD ON. I want to puke.

well, as crazy as it sounds, you can't blame Neifi so far today, he's 5 for 6.....

:?

and now batting .429 on the year

That's true. And actually, no matter what Neifi or Macias does, I would never blame them. They try their best, but just stink. It's not their fault that Dusty sets them up for me to hate them. That said, I hope Neifi keeps up this torrid pace.

and amazingily enough the Cubs have scored 7 runs by the 3rd inning. Lets try to make sure that the moves are poor before we discount them

Here's a fun story. One time I got really, really drunk, and I went outside. I saw a car that had a Cardinals bumper sticker on it. I hate the Cardinals so I walked over and put a bomb in it and blew it up because it seemed like a good idea to me. To my surprise, it turned out that Osama bin Laden was hiding in the trunk and I had killed him! I was immediately lauded as a hero.

i dont even care anymore, Neifi is garbage but he has inexplicably hit ever since he got here.

I will stop trashing him and Dusty for playing him until the alien leaves his body and goes back to his motherworld.

To Carlos Beltran!!

I can't believe Dusty brought Hawk out there to protect a five run lead. How stupid can one manager be? That's about as bad as trying to use Remmy as a LOOGY, even after he acknowledged the reverse splits!

They try, but I'm not sure they try their best. They are both in lousy shape for professional athletes, Macias in particular. That dude is soft and swollen all over. Neifi has a fat gut and mosquito legs. Their waistlines are as bloated as their salaries.

pitching hawk might have just been to get him some work and confidence. he didnt pitch in the shutout yesterday, and tomorrows an off day. most of the rest of the pen was used either yesterday or today.

continuing to give hairston few chances is still frustrating.

I don't think you get it: statistics are never wrong - and infalliably they predict future events. I have a stat here that said Neifi was going to go 6 for 9 today. I do. No I'm not going to show it to you. It's secret.

I bet $10 mil on Neifi going 6 for 9 today and now I have all the money in the world, thanks to statistics.

Here's my impression of some: "Dammit - Neifi did good! The Cubs frickin won....man that sucks!'

Well that's just baseball. You get a hit 33 times out of a hundred and you're an all-star.

If you're a manager and you only make the right decision 33% of the time, you're usually out of a job. Being able to tell that Jerry Hairston is better than Neifi Perez isn't comparable to having to hit ML pitching. It's common sense.

Yeah, and Hairston--you know, that guy who everyone but you and Dusty knows should be starting over Perez--got on base 2 out of the four times he was up. What's your point? Quit categorizing people who don't agree with Dusty's stupid decisions as people who don't want to see the Cubs succeed. I rooted for all of Neifi's weak bloop singles and bunt hits to fall.

Eh, whenever a player dons a Cub uniform, I hope to some cosmic power that they succeed, and save my groaning and random throwing of things at my television for when they fail.

Neifi got on base today, which was better than we could have reasonably hoped for. If he keeps it up, hey, hell hasn't froze over in a while, it's due. If not (aka, 99.9% likely) then we can scream when he keeps playing

Actually the shutout was Monday; yesterday was the rainout. Had Hawk not pitched today he might have been rusty by Friday, since he would have last pitched on Sunday. I'm sure his pitching today was just to get him some work.

Dude, you're talking stats now. Not your strong suit. Speaking of stats, I have some question for you:

A) If we were to start Neifi in 100 double headers, how many times do you think he would go 6 for 9 or better?

B) If we were also to start Hairston in 100 double headers, whom do you believe is likely to be the more productive player - Neifi or Hairston?

C) Should questions A and B influence Dusty's decisions on playing time for the rest of the season?

totally wrong. Dusty bashers complain about what dusty is doing beforehand either here or in gamethread/flashchat. dusty supporters wait until neifi gets a hit to say anything here.
