Time to look up the record for HR in an inning

Didn’t the dodgers hit 4 home runs in a row about 10-15 years ago?  I remember it being a late inning as part of a comeback

This is really a lost season for Wicks and it's difficult to judge him on the limited appearances he has had, but there's no way the Cubs can count on him to be anything more than rotation depth for next year.

I'm beginning to think he is too valuable as a hitter to risk pitching at all.  Even if he is a top of rotation starter, is it really worth it?

After two TJ’s, perhaps not. It’s a good problem to have though, having one player doing two things elite.

$700 million contract, he needs to pitch

Agreed. Of the many things that have sucked about this year, 2 of the things I hate the most are the Wicks and Brown injuries that have basically made both of their seasons a wash and don’t give us a feeling of what their roles can be next year

Story is that he’s on a $2 million a year salary and $68 million a year is deferred between 2034-2043.

If that’s the case, it tells me one thing. Shohei Ohtani is the nicest athlete in the world and he’s rich as horsefeathers.

Damn the Cubs have already made outs today in batted balls with the following xBAs: .820, .550, .550 (again), .320.

Meanwhile Edman hit a 2 run HR on a ball with a .210 xBA

He also makes a ton of money from his endorsement deals. Must be nice to be able to put away $68 million dollars for ten years later.

It wasn’t really a $700 million contract in todays terms because so much was so deferred for so long, but it’s still big.

He was worth 10 bWAR/9fWAR last year despite not playing in Sept. He's at 7.2/6.8 this year. Torn UCL didn't bother him hitting at all this year so yeah, it's worth it.

I suppose you could argue if he gave up pitching, he could then play in the field somewhere which would likely give his WAR a boost since he'd probably turn into a gold glover in the field too.
