For whoever’s dumb like me and scoreboard watching, Mets start a 3 game series against Boston tonight and Atlanta starts 3 games against Colorado tomorrow. ATL’s next three series are against Rockies/Toronto/Nats, so that’s unfortunate.

I wonder if we see another Kyle Hendricks start this year.  There are four weeks left in the season, and 3 of those feature a Thursday off day.  The one week that doesn't, the week of 9/16, the team is facing Washington & Oakland at Wrigley.  So you need a 6th starter maybe one or two more times this year?  Kyle's probably the favorite to take those starts, but it could easily be Wesneski (assuming no setbacks) or Kilian.

Playing a night game on Labor Day is kinda messed up?

It isn't a national game as far as I can tell.  I have no idea why it would have been scheduled at night, especially with kids in school tomorrow.

On second thought, I guess maybe they were giving the Cubs a bit of extra time after traveling home from DC yesterday.  Not wanting to play a day game at home after an away game?  But still, I feel like Memorial Day and Labor Day should always be day games.

I would have thought that if there was another Kyle start it would be Wednesday. That would push Imanaga back to Friday, giving him 6 days rest between starts, and he would be able to be able to face the Yankees and the Dodgers. That Dodger start would have been in a traditional rest period in MLB. But it looks like they are using Imanaga Wednesday instead, which would then give him an extra day next start but this time on normal rest. For me, if Kyle is going to get one more start I would rather it be Wednesday so Imanaga can go in both NY and LA series. Very good chance if he doesn’t go this week he won’t pitch again until the Cubs are out of it.

Agree, can't remember a night game on Labor Day, I remember it used to break up the Jerry Lewis telethon.

Cubs playoff odds now at about 7% according to FanGraphs.  It's doubled in the last 2 weeks.  For Mets its around 30% and Braves is around 75%.

Keep the faith.

Jamo in a back brace between innings is not a confidence builder

This is true, but 40 pitches through 4 innings isn’t too bad at all.

Man just realizing just how easy the schedule gets after Yankees/dodgers. Rockies, Oakland, nats, philly, reds. Philly is the only team that is any good and if they haven’t wrapped up the division by then that means we aren’t catching the braves anyways.
