Wow what the heck happened to Max Meyer.  I remember him being one of the few feel good stories for the Marlins early season.  I know he got sent to AAA to manage his innings but didn't realize things went so thoroughly off the rails.

Each series is pretty much make or break from here on out insofar as the Cubs' playoff hopes go.

Lets Roll GIFs | Tenor

They need to sweep away some of these teams behind them before they play the Dodgers and Yankees.

I feel they need a 7-2 trip to actually feel like they can make a run. If they can accomplish that maybe they will only be 2 or 3 out and then who knows. 16 at home with only the Yankees 3 games being against a good team, and 9 on the road(little rougher with Phillies and Dodgers being 6 of those 9) But if thru can go 7-2 maybe they can make a run and end around 86 games won. Still might not be enough, however.

Cubs have a 2.4% chance of clinching a wild card spot.  They need to go on a run, and it needed to be this month because next month is tougher and this month was easy.  They need to sweep the Marlins.

PCA has a top 10 K rate in MLB this month. Pretty nuts.

With his speed and defense it's borderline impossible for him to be bad while he's running a sub 10% K rate.  He obviously won't keep this up but wonder where he can settle in.

Cubs claimed pitcher Gavin Hollowell, Designated Bote..

There's a little cost cutting there, wonder if Smyly next. He the last one on roster woth a club option for next year, might snip him later to save some money.

Is not watching this stuff why I don’t appreciate Crow-Armstrong’s run? I want some more power. I notice Amaya is much closer to the league avg catcher, .293 xwOBA to .300 wOBA, than Crow-Armstrong is a CF (.270 xwOBA v .303 wOBA)

Theo would want us to have dongs, no?

They're missing alot of those from Swanson this season and the DH spot in order.

They can live with PCA being an OB, speed guy at top of order next season if they get the power from Catcher, DH, SS, Corner IFers, and at least one of the Corner OFer.

If they can go 7 and 2 and can be within 3 games of a WC spot jumpinga couple teams, then September will be interesting.

The offense needs to start being more consistent for that to happen though.

He’s not an OBP top of the order kind of guy either, no? Hopefully I’ll be able to get a feel via the playoffs!

I like Langeliers or Naylor as potential catcher trades, but still don’t think the door is closed on seeking more oomph from CF. I don’t think all the farm eggs are in one basket or even a few

No he isn't now, just hoping he can be
