As bad as this year has been, it would be worse if this team doesn’t at least finish the year above 500. Dodgers, Yankees and Phillies are the only series left this year against teams over 500. Everyone else is a 4th or 5th team in their division (like most of our remaining opponents are way way way under .500 teams). Wildly easy run home.

Don’t: Want to trade Morel for one year of Soto

If: Jed decides to trade to trade Morel, make sure it’s for someone with controllable years.

Then: The fanbase will discover that Parades sucks and will want to sit him for David Bote.

Not the sliding doors moment I was hoping for.

Gonna need your third baseman to hit better than .140 and slug more than .280 if you want any chance to sneak into the playoffs

I'm told he is better than this, despite a months-long slump with no signs of improvement.

Maybe we'll see Triantos in September

So THATS why Bethancourt was on waivers. Turns out he hits like Tucker Barnhart.

You were saying? He’s been fine for a backup..

I still think its way too soon to give up on a player with 1600 mostly above average MLB PAs, as annoying as this stretch is.  Though I imagine I'd be much more frustrated if I was still watching the team regularly and actually seeing him fail so frequently, but I mostly just watch an inning or two here and there.

Wrigley is empty

Makes sense.  Not sure what they drew last night but this is the first home series since most of the kids in the area went back to school.

His first 3 seasons he was bad, he was good last season and first 2 months this season and then went south.

So, close to 2/3 of those PA he has been bad

116 wRC+ in a “bad” 2022 season?

and 2020-2021 was less than 200 total PAs.
