So close we can taste it now!  Just need to get 3 more outs going up against the White Sox 8-9-1 hitters.

Hector Neris is my response.

Great opp for Cubs fans to check out Luis Robert this weekend! He may not be a shiny and new prospect but that talent is real!

50% strikeouts.

Yep, just what I expected.

He looked 100% safe on the replay, but ok

I think he was out even after the replays, but it was close enough that I could definitely be wrong and I'm shocked it wasn't reviewed.

I thought he was clearly on the bag before Nico got to him. Did the White Sox lose their challenge earlier in the game?

Didn't the Sox already lose their challenge?

1) This has the potential to be an all-time funny loss

2) I knew the white sox were bad but their record looks fake

Losing tonight would only be the 2nd largest lead in a game that resulted in a loss this year.

But yes, the White Sox are no Padres. So this would be an all-timer.

Until two singles and a walk.  Then the White Sox will have the "heart" of their order up with the bags juiced.

did they?  I know the other CS the White Sox had was close enough that they had the camera on Sizemore to see if it would be challenged, but they didn't.  Believe that was the 6th, so I don't think so.

It is not shocking at all that the Cubs scored 7 runs with ease and then as soon as the game started tightening up couldnt manage any more runs against what I have to assume is a horrifically bad bullpen.

You expect 50% Ks? What if, at least for the purpose of manufacturing expectations, we pretend everyone’s a Cubs prospect on a pre-arb rookie deal? Probably the only way anyone outside the org will get a shot at a fair shake

Yes

I was at a bar in San Diego watching that disaster.  Went to the game the following night (a win) and the rubber game after that ( a loss).

The White Sox 8, 9 and 1 hitters have a .485 OPS, .560 OPS, and .595 OPS this year

keep that in mind when Neris walks the first one and is down 3-1 in the count on the 2nd one.
