Hockey experts - Was this the best US team ever?

Probably....but I find it amazing how many people are just overlooking just how 1 sided this game was. Kudos to Enzo predicting the USAs only chance was taking it to OT. But even then most people probably thought OT made the Canadien chances even better. I hate to be this guy but Canada lost this game way more than USA won it.

Seeing Kash Patel party in the locker room with the hockey team really takes a shine off the accomplishment for me.

I was rooting against the US all tournament, but I found myself rooting for them in the gold medal game. now I'm disappointed they won, even though this was all inevitable

Team USA parked the bus after that opening goal, which was an interesting strategy that fortunately worked out thanks to Hellebuyck being on fire.

Why would you root against your own country?

The 2010 team had some stars (Kane, Kessel) but the defensemen were VERY mid (Jack Johnson, etc.) and the goalies were Jonathan Quick and Ryan Miller.

2014 has largely the same team plus Oshie

I feel like most everyone I’ve read/heard has mentioned how thoroughly Canada outplayed the US. I woke up in time for the start of the 2nd and never once thought the game felt like the US was in a good spot, even when they were leading.

In a normal timeline, Canada wins that game 4-1

I rooted for a lot of americans in the olympics, just not this group

Why draw the line at men’s hockey? They were a fun team, chasing history.

Because 2 of the most prominent players are openly pieces of horsefeathers and that's not the case with most of the rest of the US olympians.

You only have to go one page back in this thread to see the team celebrating with Kash Patel. Or, to more succinctly answer your question:

I’m assuming you’re talking about the Tkachuks and I’ll assume it’s over politics?

No, it's over their point of view that certain people aren't deserving of equal protection under the law as the constitution requires, which isn't politics.

Oh who cares, man? I don’t know why Kash Patel was there and to be blunt I could not give a single horsefeathers either.

A 24-year old kid lost teeth in an effort to win a gold medal for a country he loves and there are grown men rooting against him because their feelings are hurt over who the sitting president is. That’s pathetic.

I don’t know what their point of view is and I don’t care either.

Certainly seems like you care because you keep asking questions about it when people have been perfectly clear about where they stand on this.

rooting in sports is purely meaningless, it's just your personal opinion of what outcome might make you feel better

the main accomplishment of the guy they all enthusiastically partied with is aggressively covering up a massive pedophile sex trafficking operation

matt is in trump's sports council thing and brady is very outspoken with his politics. they've also been the faces of the team leading up to the olympics. then some of the players fawned over trump when he called them before the game.

I would have absolutely loved it if the team had kept politics out of it

I do, and so do plenty of others. But I shouldn’t be surprised to see you tsk tsking people for giving a horsefeathers.
