It’s not a big revelation that the Angels never finished above .500 with Trout and Ohtani when the rest of the squad isn’t that good, Boog.

5th: 2nd and 3rd, 1 out, don't score

6th: 1st and 3rd, 0 outs, don't score

(I realize they scored 3 in the 5th so I'm fudging the math a bit, but they did at one point have 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and didn't score again)

Could be wrong but even when they had Pujols and other bats, they never really had pitching

You’re not wrong. Just one of those teams fortunate enough to have two all time greats at the same time but unfortunate enough to have nothing else going for them.

This horsefeathers isn’t on Steele at all. Getting heaps of base hits, bases loaded, runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out means diddly squat if the hitters stop hitting during those scenarios.
