I don't think this really matters now that there's a DH.  The only LHH to pinch hit for with a righty is Bellinger.

Just meant to hit for Amaya when he inevitably comes up in a big spot late in the game. All of this obviously doesn’t matter now.

Can we trade all these scrubs for prospects again? Good thing we're paying for the highest paid manager in the league.

I like the Cubs chances to make it three in a row.

Oh no, this is the guy in the politics thread trying to convince us that Trump has no shot in November.

I thought I read somewhere that his most recent contract gave him more days off than before

I'm not nearly as old as Pat and I'm sure I'd feel different if it was my actual job, but I always thought if I were lucky enough to get one of those jobs I would hate the idea of missing games or innings unless I had to, because I'd want my voice on any call of something crazy happening.

I just find the idea of negotiating off days into a baseball PBP deal to be odd.  An off day here or there for health or personal issues, sure, but I don't really understand having a significant quantity of predetermined off days for no other reason than to take days off.  Maybe my expectations are unfair and unrealistic, but I have always considered broadcasting to be an everyday job.  Pat may very well have a valid reason for needing frequent days off, but the other side of that is, if the Cubs know that, they need to start working in someone other than Zaidman.

Definitely academic now, but there's not a likely situation when you want a RHH, even in that outcome.  Amaya's hitting among 6 straight RHH so a LHP is unlikely to be called on to face him or those around him, so the likely outcome is one of the lefties anyway.  Mayyybe in a situation where you also pinch hit for Bote in 9th inning desperation but then you add in the Mets only have one LHRP(Diekman) and it's not their setup/closer and you're left with it not being at all likely.

Happens when you get in the HOF

Only thing that can possibly cheer up this fanbase is having Jed Hoyer for an interview on tomorrow’s broadcast and fire him live on air.
