Maybe MLB should have shelled out for an “away” uniform for the umpires whenever a team wears all black, so it doesn’t look like they have one too many infielders.

Of course, another IL stint for Suzuki because if this Cubs team didn't have bad luck they wouldn't have any luck at all.  Maybe, time to give Davis at shot but, I'm certain it'll be Kanario instead.

Prediction - somehow Amaya will get up with runners on and less the two outs and he'll promptly end the game.

I see what you did there.

Quick! Trade multiple high end prospects for Luis Robert, the guy thats always injured and has a career 5% walk rate. That will fix everything.

Nico's hand is bad enough that he can't grip a bat well enough to play but he's gonna run and potentially slide into home with that hand unprotected?

Doesn't matter because, tonight, there wasn't even the remotest chance Wisdom was going to put the ball in play.

Remember when I said this team will end up being sellers a couple weeks ago,  yep it getting closer and closer.

I just don't see them adding to payroll in June to improve this roster and it'll likely be too late by mid July to do anything unless all these guys suddenly figure it out and start hitting soon.

Nobody wants Cubs players

I know all games count and everyone plays the white Sox but since my team sucks I’m going to bend statistics however I want:

the Cubs are 5-16 in their last 21 games against teams who are not a historically bad teams on pace for 39 wins.

And in the 2 games against that historically bad team they needed multiple 4+ run comebacks at home to beat them by 1 each time.

This is one of the worst stretches I can remember for a non-tanking Cubs team.

Realistically, anybody they'd trade wouldn't bring back nuttin. Cuz we have a hole team of nuttin

The team would have to have a stretch like last year where they played at a 103 win pace for 3 months to become light buyers.  Even at our worst last year I don’t remember the Cubs having nearly as many issues as we have this year. The bullpen was not great but there were a couple of reliable arms, their fielding was actually a plus instead of a major minus and while 1B was a hole it was much more fixable than the hole we have at catcher this year.

If they are in the playoff hunt they may make some small moves that they see as moves that can help them next year as well as this year. I don’t think they’d completely ignore the opportunity to make the playoffs. But I highly doubt you see the Cubs go after a big bat if this team is still floundering near .500 at the end of July.

Don't disagree, my thing is, they will move who they can for what they can and we will likely see guys like Caissie, PCA and whomever else is ready get the bulk of playing time afterwards.

There have been many worse Cubs teams I've watched but I'm struggling to come up with one that has consistently pissed me off this much. Maybe the tank Cubs when Edwin Jackson was at peak Edwin Jacksoning.
