Eh, I get the argument, but he clearly went out of the baseline to avoid the tag.  Just more stupid baserunning.

A rule's a rule but it seems odd to me that players are just supposed to let themselves get tagged and any effort to avoid it is illegal.

If he stayed in Baseline he runs into Arenado ( he didn't have ball yet) and then probably called safe for interference.

The Cubs now lead the MLB in most outs on the bases this year (25), most outs committed at 2B this year (9), most outs committed at home this year (9), 4th most outs committed at 1B this year (4)

Theyre doing a decent job of avoiding committing outs at 3B this year though, just 15th in the league.

They could avoid it by not getting picked off second base? 😂

I’m just being obnoxious now

Did I see the Cardinals pitcher touch Herrera on the privates at the end if the 3rd inning? I’ve seen butt swats and I’m sure that ball stung, but uh no.

If the Cubs don’t get their horsefeathers together like overnight they could find themselves way out of the division race by Thursday.

Yes giving up on an entire 4 game series before it starts is ridiculous, and I’m not actually lol, but man with how this team is playing, it’s a possibility.

Maybe if that happens Jed can disabuse himself of the notion that some secret manager sauce will make this team good

Not sure it even matters since he’s signed for another 4 years and $42m after this year.
