Make that 5 ER.  ERA sitting at an ugly 5.68 now after giving up 16 runs in his last 3 starts (thanks Cuas)

Regardless of what his final numbers show, he pitched well tonight.

What am I missing with Bote that they prefer Mastrobuoni and Madrigal over giving him another opportunity

He can play 1B 2B 3B and corner outfield

When we’re wanting Bote over Madrigal and Mastro, we know this team is so meh. Like all 3 are just bad, who cares? Lolz

Which position player gets to pitch the 9th?

Just make Cuas pitch until his arm falls off

No Cuas, we still couldn’t close our eyes and pretend you’re Pedro Strop even if your cap is on an angle. You just suck.

Madrigal really sucks man, I liked the trade at the time, I wanted him to keep getting chances because I thought the hit tool was elite. But it’s time to move on man

Meanwhile our next opponent the Cardinals are 8-2 in their last 10 games having just finished off a sweep of the Orioles.

The same Orioles who hadn't been swept in like 2 years?

It says a lot that Fried was allowed to complete the game and throw over 100 pitches. He’s thrown bullpen all game.

The Cardinals are now only 3.5 games back from the Cubs with this weekend series coming up.

Those are the ones...or were the ones.  Cardinals devil magic is back

The Cubs have not played with the lead in over a week now.  Last time was the 7-1 win in Atlanta last Wednesday.  Their 2 wins over that timespan were walk off wins where they never led beforehand.

Not that this means anything at all or says anything we don't already know about the Cubs slump

So what you’re saying is….cubs opponents blew two leads in the 8th inning or later

FanGraphs wrote an article this week about them being cooked, and my first thought was "You horsefeathers idiots just woke Satan up"
