You're a hero for making major life decisions based around baseball.  ST in AZ is another bonus.  You could moved to Myrtle Beach haha.  The Carolinas sound nice, never been though.  Been to Tennessee, it was beautiful.  Not into the desert vibe, though not a fan of the humidity in the south/Florida either haha.

Well not exactly strictly for baseball or sports. But I did always know I would never move to the eastern time zone. As for Arizona, I do like the heat without humidity. But come August I do find myself in Chicago for a month. Go to 5-7 Cubs games and enjoy a little cooler temperatures. Az is about 110 in August. The thing I like better in Arizona over Florida is Az has way more sunny days without rain. And, of course, much less humidity.

Lineup tonight:

Happ - LF
Suzuki - DH
Bellinger - CF
Morel - 3b
Swanson - SS
Busch - 1b
Hoerner - 2b
Tauchman - RF
Amaya - C

At first I figured Cooper might get the bulk of DH til Wisdom returned,  but I'm liking how he is using Tauchman to keep the outfielders fresh by giving them a day off in the field.

This is my dream to do soon, I was gonna go after I retired in 2020 but life happened.

Hopefully I'll get there soon

Yep, I bought in 2010 in Arizona. Rented the place for 6 years. Decided to sell and buy another place I would vacation at. Did that for a few years. Then Covid hit so got to work from home. I am a retired FF but I also had another part time job. And my wife worked full time. Anyway, we started spending half the year in Az and then decided one day to sell in Chicago in May of 21. Been here full time ever since. So moving to Az was a real soft landing. We already knew we liked it and knew the neighborhood.

Might sound strange, but when I moved a criteria I had when deciding where to move was time zone. I would have never moved from Chicago to the east coast. Wanted a warm climate so we chose  Arizona over Florida or Carolina with one of the biggest reasons being I like the time zone. All baseball season Az is 2 hours earlier. I am someone who gets up early and probably is sleeping by 10. Not an issue here. In the east coast I would miss a lot of live sports.

Or you could do what I did and move to the McAllen. Warm weather all year round and you still stay in CST. Guam was nice too, but that time zone difference was crazy.

So we went from a .500 team to the 4th best team in the MLB because of 6 games, 3 against the Rockies at home?  That seems odd.  They still have our playoff odds at 51% haha.

ELO is pretty reactive to early-season swings. Taking a series off the Dodgers is a big deal. Dropping one to the Padres would probably drop us pretty much back where we were.

Just saw that with today loss, the Whitesox have been shutout 4 times in first 10 games...

Also, Pirates won again, early going but the dang NL central isn't weak so far.

Pirates gonna Pirate.  Just when you think they might be for real, they will lose 12 of 14 and bury themselves in the standings.

Yea, that what I always get a kick out of in April, we'll see sometimes divisions being flipped with the better teams on the bottom half and the bad teams on top..

I had no interest in moving to Texas.

I miss Yu.

For sure. I hated trading him more than almost all the other trades (mostly because it was a clear salary dump), and would still take him back.

Owen Caissie panning out would do a lot to ease that angst, however.

Agreed! Will never complain about having Caissie. Yu was just effortlessly cool and so fun to watch pitch.

I would love Yu when he was on the team. But they did the right thing trading him and restocking the farm. I wouldn’t want him until he is 41, like the Padres have him for.
