So did we bury Love too soon? I really didn’t expect to see him improve so much so quickly but did think he’d get better. Still don’t think he’s in that Favre/Rodgers mold but probably good enough that the Packers will commit to him for awhile.

I think a lot of sports fans (including many Packers fans) forget the experience level (or lack thereof) of his WR/TE group. They are ALL first and second year players. They’re learning the playbook, learning coverage looks, learning the speed of the game, and by the way, making plenty of mistakes in the process.  I don’t think Love will have a career similar at all to Favre or AR. And it wouldn’t be fair to expect that. But I think it’s certainly reasonable to give him the entire season and compare the first 4-6 games to the last 4-6 games and then view the season as a whole.

In a seemingly impossible feat, Boyle actually seems to be worse than Zach Wilson. 7/10 for 35 yards in the first half against a middle of the pack pass defense.

That end of the first half.......good god.

Absolutely shocking to me how bad Dalvin Cook has gotten and how fast it happened.

In 2022 he rushes for 1174 yards(4.4 YPC)  and catches another 295 (7.6YPC)

In 2023 he's barely getting any touches averaging 3.3 rushing ypc and 4.7 yards per catch. He's unlikely to reach 500 combined yards this year.

Short answer: yes I think Love wasn’t given enough time.  I agree with your take.

Games of consequence for the Bears

Panthers(1-9) vs Titans(3-7)

Pats(2-8) vs Giants(3-8)

Arizona(2-9) vs Rams(4-6)

In a perfect world if the Panthers lost and the Pats and Cards won, that would put the Bears as a huge favorite to land that #1 pick.

I hate to say it, but I think I'd put the Panthers as a favorite over the Titans today. The Titans are horrible lately.

I can always tell when someone hasn't seen the Panthers play yet

They need to give Young some time to clear his head. He looks so rattled.

Sees the pass rusher get clear on the left coming for him.  Starts running right away from the pressure.  Waits a beat and a half, *then* tries to lift his arm to throw despite knowing full well the pass rusher has to be right on top of him. Strip sack, lost fumble.

The anticipation throws are still there and they are nice but he looks so broken in the pocket.

Carolina out bads Tennessee and falls to 1-10.

I don't think it's remotely hyperbolic to say Carolina is the worst current franchise in pro sports. Complete blowhard as owner making stupid decision after stupid decision. A roster totally bereft of talent. Fan support is tepid at best unless they're great.

They're absolutely sunk until at least 2025 without a draft pick next year and realistically it's probably 2-3 years longer even if they hit on every decision from here, which they will not.
