Of course, this is leaking out literally as UM's plane is in the air - with Harbaugh - to State College. It just keeps getting better.

They are going to destroy PSU. It won’t matter if he’s on the sidelines or not.

I think so too. I haven't seen anything from PSU or OSU to suggest they're on Michigan's level.

UM, by the way, has said they will pursue a temporary restraining order to allow Harbaugh to coach this weekend and going forward.

I love how Michigan is complaining that they haven't received due process. Believe me when I tell you that they don't WANT due process, because that means that the NCAA/B1G have done a FULL investigation

they're going to do a full investigation anyways.  This is just the Big Ten trying to satiate their blood lust.  It's going to get a lot uglier than it is now.

It's the Big Ten trying to punish Harbaugh in the same year that he cheated (while not punishing the players)

While openly admitting they have found no evidence that Harbaugh was aware of any “advanced scouting”.  I’m not saying Harbaugh definitively did or didnt know but there’s no evidence yet. And why? Because there has been no investigation. So yeah let’s hurry up and punish and piss off one of your 2 flagship programs in the conference. Like I said it’s going to get a lot uglier

edit: btw I’ll readily admit over the past 2 weeks I’ve been hyper radicalized

edit edit: sounds like the Harbaugh will be on the sidelines tomorrow

Cmon, you really think he didn't know what was happening? Dude was apparently on the sidelines in the ear of the coordinators. Even if he didn't know, it was his job to know.

Did you think Fitzgerald honestly didn't know about the hazing at NW? Same standard applies. It's your program, it's your job to know.

Did you read my post? I said there has been no evidence, not that Harbaugh did or didn’t know. And there’s been no evidence because there has been no investigation. Why would you suspend someone without an investigation? Very slippery slope.  And we’re not talking about assaulting other players we’re talking about “stealing signs” which every team does. Some idiot organized an in person sign stealing ring which is against the rules and absolutely should get punished but offers very little competitive advantage, especially when we’ve seen actual documents distributed between OSU, Purdue and Rutgers with all of Michigans signs.

if the NCAA runs an investigation and determines that Harbaugh should be punished even if there’s no evidence because he should be in control of his program, go ahead completely fair game.  But rushing to do something because a bunch of big ten schools cried to a powerless commissioner to do something is just going to lead to very bad outcomes for the entire conference.

told you I’ve been radicalized, I don’t even give a horsefeathers. If you managed to get stodgy ass Michigan including the president, board of regents, AD, major donors all 100% behind the football team and coach, you fucked up.

No investigation? The NCAA has proof that this guy was running this sign-stealing operation. The buck stops with Harbaugh.

it’s not that there has been “no investigation “, it’s that the ncaa found evidence much more quickly than usual.

And, again, a full NCAA/Big Ten investigation probably uncovers more bad stuff, so careful what you wish for.

Harbaugh being able to coach all week but not be on the sidelines is a complete nothing burger of a penalty.

Derwood articulated this better than I. This is only an initial punishment against a program for clear and obvious cheating. They don't even deny that it happened. This, they don't have to have a full investigation to determine a suspension is warranted.

I look at it as similar to a suspect being held on charges pending trial. Of course it's not anywhere near that serious - it's college sports and it's an old rule that if I understand correctly was put in place to help teams who couldn't afford to send people to do this - but similar ideas. They clearly broke the rules. They got caught. They're being punished. And it'll probably get pushed off so the punishment ends up being next year's non-conference slate anyway.

The question of whether UM got a competitive advantage from the in person scouting seems to be answered by the fact that they kept doing it. If they weren't seeing results - and the results frankly speak for themselves given that this stuff apparently intensified after the COVID season and Michigan instantly became a conference juggernaut in that time - why would they do it for 3 straight seasons?

Impugning the integrity of Michigan Men (TM) was 100% guaranteed to radicalize "stodgy ass Michigan" regardless of context. Football team, law school, undergrad kinesiology courses, wouldn't matter who was under fire.

Bielema went for 2 with a 12 point lead in a shootout with 15 minutes left.

He’d then burn his final timeout with 28 seconds left as IU lined up to tie the game with a 2.

Illinois then bafflingly let the clock expire after being sacked with 15 seconds left at their own 35.

so I’m watching overtime between Indiana and Illinois

Yet, they won, most definitely in spite of Bielema.

I was curious if Indiana was playing without a secondary in this game. UI's backup QB had 430 yards passing at the end of the the third quarter

My hot take is if someone can do this then the opponent is not a good team and shouldn't be viewed as such

Until today, Michigan couldn’t have had a softer schedule. OSU has been tested, and is good on both sides of the ball.
