So what are the chances the Bears could put Bagent on a strength training program in the off-season and get him to at least adequate arm strength?  From what I have seen, I think that's really the only thing holding him back (but it's holding him back A LOT).

nice of tirico, collinsworth, and mccauley have a nice chuckle about what an obvious intentional grounding that was but the bears are too feckless to get a call

In their defense, do you think it would matter,?

narratives be damn, the Bears suck

I don't think he needs strength training. I think he needs better mechanics.   Which *could* be fixable over time, but I'm not gonna sit around and wait for him.

I saw the Kansas City game, which was exacty liket his one but Fields was worse.

Kansas City didn't have the literal worst pass defense in football.

Is that really something that you can significantly affect?  Feels like you either have NFL arm talent or you don’t.

It’s not muscles, it’s ability. He doesn’t have it. You don’t just learn how to thrown a football in your 20s.

Fields had 99 passing yards, 4.5 YPA, 58.7 QB rating

Bagent has 165 passing yards, 7.2 YPA, 71.8 QB rating

Neither does San Diego. Unless we're stat-scouting.

It's not like we're 1 or 2 games into the season. The numbers are what they are. Their pass defense sucks.

That was my question really. Is there any precedent for a guy making a substantial leap in strength/mechanics after being in the league?

Make that a 57.2 QB rating against a team that gives up 310 yards a game through the air. Meanwhile KC opponents average 176.1 which is the 2nd fewest in the league.

Then again, you could argue that Bagent isn't *enough* better than Fields for it to matter when Fields has much higher upside.

Could you? I mean if you were able to, would you?

none of that horsefeathers matters tho after that pick, that guy wearing #17 will be lucky to ever  throw a Td pass again after that int
