It looks like it isn't going to happen, which is a predictable bummer.  I was just going to immediately make a 1K bet at 2:1, and let Y2K subsidize it to 3:1. He would have had a 1:2 shot at being smartest idiot!

I'm confused. You're putting a second betting unit on the line (1 with Y2K, one with the sportsbook).  It's effectively 3:2, when it could have been 2:1.   You could have just bet the whole 2k on the 2:1 bet and gotten better expected value.

It feels like you're throwing away a banana for every buck you take here.

Does anyone else use PointsBet?  I rarely deposit money and place actual bets through any gambling app, but I would frequently sign into PointsBet for the $1 or $2 bonus bet and hope to hit a longshot parlay.  For the past several weeks, I'm not getting bonus bets anymore. When I sign into the app, it says that a bonus bet will be available at x time, but when I come back at that time it isn't there.  Did they finally cut me off for leeching off the free bonus bets?

I do on occasion.  Yes they will cut you off if you only use it for free bets. I haven't received any since Thanksgiving.

Ridley commenting is fun, but this entire Jags/FanDuel story was always weird, got weirder, and I think there's a chance things get even more weird. A lot of the bets the thief made were tantamount to dumping.

I don't know much about this story but I don't think FD should give the money back.  It's not a pawn shop that sometimes had to give stolen goods back.

Well, FanDuel probably has some culpability. This guy was depositing and spewing money like mad. The stories are nearly unbelievable. For instance, he was entering 10k contests where he was playing against just two other people (if you aren't colluding with a partner in these things, you're already doing it wrong) and he was picking players that weren't even playing that day!  It was insane. 

 

But yes, the Jags shouldn't get their money back from FanDuel. FanDuel just needs to be better regulated.
