This roster needs open heart surgery instead of a Band-Aid. Just painful to watch them going out like this.
3-0 down on the fifth and you just know it’s insurmountable.

Slow dude Santana with a triple?  What is going on?

I don't really want to criticize Bellinger's defense, especially when he's playing somewhat out of position, but I feel like he is a bit slow to get down on those hard hit grounders down the line.  I'm not entirely sure that one was playable, but we see other guys knock those down.

I'm punching the next person who says there's no momentum in sports in the kidney. Only the Road Rockies have made this team look vaguely professional for 2 straight weeks.

The guy that blew the game for Pittsburgh had a 7.5 ERA in 24 innings coming into today. I think the Pirates bet on the Marlins making the playoffs.

Payback for Ross talking horsefeathers. Pirates laid down for them tonight.

Crazy that this team entered the final 6 games with a 1 game lead and if it wasn't for a torrential downpour they'd be eliminated with 2 games left to play.  That's sort of impressive in a way.

Marlins win a 1 run game.

Pair that with a Cubs loss tonight and this this is as over as it gets without being officially over.

If the Cubs lose tonight it would basically be a technicality of the Marlins having to get 3 outs against the Mets to eliminate the Cubs.

I'm willing to call it officially over if they lose.

Time to pop the champagne bottles and celebrate a monstrous 82(?), maybe 83(?) win season. Whoopty do, Basil.

It’s actually a pretty bad collapse. They were up 5 games in the WC at one point weren’t they? Cubs had one of the easiest schedules of the 2nd half. Heck, we were 1.5 games back from the division. Just really bad stuff from this team.

Ended with the same effort put into the roster by the FO.

We peaked at 4.5 games above the playoff cut line, 93% chance to make the playoffs per FanGraphs.

Ready for PCA, Canario, and Amaya final day. Heck call up Mervis. Sucks we have to use a “real” lineup tomorrow since the Marlins/Mets didn’t finish.

There's no reason to use a "real" lineup tomorrow.

Good thing that was a no doubter because it would have been infuriating if it hit outfield wall and Candelario was standing on 1st.

No one in the world hates the cubs more than this game thread right now

No one in the world loves to comment on negative game thread posters more than you 😆

I say this with love

Edit: I read this back 3 times and it doesnt even make sense.  Just thought it was funny you were still commenting on the state of the game threads.
