In your opinion(s), has this season culminated into a choke job by the Cubs; or, have they performed according to or above your expectations?

Above expectations. But my expectation was maybe a couple wins better than last year. They surpassed that because I don't think anyone counted on Bellinger hitting like this. That man literally had this team on his back for a couple months. Having said that, I dont give them kudos for passing my expectations. They were so low to begin with and this season isn't anything that should be celebrated and the only reason it is being celebrated is because of how bad this team has been in recent years. But, a lot of what was good about this season is going to be walking out that door when the clock strikes midnight.

At least Suzuki seems to have settled in and we can stop bitching about how not good he is when he's been 80-90th percentile in virtually every batted ball statistic sans the end result.

I refuse to believe Dansby has ever been this bad for this long.

His numbers really aren't that far off from last year in total. Just a little less slug this year and a higher ground ball rate.  So this might be about what we're gonna get for the next several years.

Nice play by Dansby, though I couldn't help but notice he seemed to be walking a little awkwardly as he went back to his position. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he's not all systems go right now.

Gotta get Cuas in there

Cuas carrying on a noble tradition from the likes of Michael Wuertz, Jesse Chavez and Steve Cishek, who also seemingly pitched every freaking game for months

Leiter has nothing at all left.  Every outing from him is like a 1980's starting pitcher going into the 9th inning with 130 pitches thrown and just hoping guys hit the ball at someone.

Spectacular analogy

I think this is his 27th game in 52 total games.  Crazy

Super genius Counsell going for the bunt before the DP with a C on first and Masturang at the plate is interesting

I will say that probably the only defensible time to bunt is when you are the home team in the bottom of the 9th/extras only needing 1 run to end the game. The chance of scoring that run with 1 out and the runner on 2nd goes up about 10% versus hitting with him on 1st and no outs.

Relief pitchers should earn their pension by appearance, because this type of usage may not bode well for him having a long career.

He's a sidearmer, he could probably donate his UCL to a teammate and still make 90 appearances

Oh extra innings.  those have been kind to us lately.

Hard enough for us to put up a zero without the automatic runner.
