Not worried about the season record.  The Cubs lost two of three to the Rockies and except for a last inning comeback they would have been swept. by a team hovering at 40 games under .500 for the season.  Now tonight!  The only thing that matters is now and the recent past.

as negative as I am, I can’t really get too mad at steele. he’s carried this team all season and had to throw a ton of innings because a bunch of big money veterans like taillon and smyly were completely bums.

All 162 games count equally.  I understand what you are trying to say but the Pirates are literally the main reason we are anywhere near the playoffs.  We're 69-71 against teams who aren't the Pirates.  You aren't going to go 12-1 against a team in a given year.  Steele is gassed and got shelled twice, the offense has hit a wall.  If they lost a series to the Rockies in June (like when the Brewers got swept) it would be whatever, its just magnified because there are 10 games left.  Steele is gassed and got shelled again, it sucks but it happens.

I've enjoyed watching this Cub team this season, even when they were 10 under they had a swagger to 'em.  I'm a long time fan, since the late 1960's, so I have low expectations most of the time.  I hope they can complete the comeback tonight.
