I could have sworn this was a quote that other people have cited here, but I can't find anything definitive. If a manager has a good bullpen, he's going to look good. If he has a bad bullpen, he's going to look bad. He has a bad bullpen. That's not on him.

Look I'm on record as saying Cuas sucks. He does. But the implication is that we're leaving some shutdown pitcher in the pen that is capable of getting 7 outs and we just don't have that. 

Like, how dare David Ross not go to Drew horsefeathers Smyly against a righty. Is that what all the anger is really about?
