Bulls about to move to solo 4th in the East. Indiana is closing in fast. Bye bye Orlando.

Magic Number for the playoffs: 1 (I think)

According to Comcast Sports Nite, its 2 actually. Either way, should be wrapped up by Sunday Morning

It's 2 because the Bulls lose the tiebreaker to New Jersey (thanks to that 0-4 mark vs. them). But yeah, they should take care of that sometime this weekend.

Saw this interesting quote in the Sun-Times today.

PUNK'D: Skiles said he "was not thrilled'' by Heat coach Stan Van Gundy's comments Tuesday calling the hard foul by Bulls forward Andres Nocioni on Dwyane Wade "a punk play'' and saying such actions by role players against the league's stars should be cleaned up.

"I think that's some of the attitude that's wrong with the league, honestly,'' Skiles said. "I didn't feel like there was anything malicious about what Nocioni did.''

I didn't see the play, but I agree with Skiles. Van Gundy's idea that only stars should be protected (but if it happens to a role player, it's fine, I guess) IS what's wrong with the league. Star players already get away with murder.

"The Bulls return to the playoffs for the first time since 1998!" \:D/

Indiana has the 5th seed right now.

Cool. Knocking Reggie Miller out of the playoffs one last time would be an excellent cap to a wonderful season.

Yup. :D Does Artest have a chance to be re-instated for the playoffs?

I highly highly doubt it. Stern is pissed at him. I would love to see him kicked out of the NBA for good. That would be sweet.

The UC is gonna be INSANE on Monday as these guys are introduced. I'm really amped for a Bulls/Detroit that ultimately means very little in the grand scheme of things. I'm so impressed and proud of the way these guys have played this season.

And if Artest comes back, let Noc guard him, I bet Artest goes haywire after a few minutes/

CAP? I thought we were gonna cap off the wonderful Championship season with a huge parade in Grant Park...

just so long as we don't play new jersey, they're the only ones that i'm really afraid of.

With 6.5 games and 4 teams between the Bulls and the Nets with 6 games left, I don't see how the Bulls could play NJ in the first round.

I heard somebody on the radio yesterday talking about the Bulls' postseason chances, and he said he thought the Bulls "had a chance to pull off the upset in the first round". Assuming they are the 4th seed, would they really be the underdogs? I was under the impression that they had about the best record in the league since January 1 or something like that.

Nope, they'd have home court over the 5th seed.

Edited: mis-read: I think it depends on who they are playing. If the Pacers are the 5 seed then yes it will be considered a mild upset since the Pacers were considered one of the elite teams in the east.

The Pacers were considered one of the elite teams in the east before they lost Artest and O'Neal.

Yeah, but the Bulls got to the 4 seed in large part to the post presence that Curry provided. If he's not there in the playoffs, a team like Washington might be favored even as a 5 seed.

They'd miss Curry's scoring, but Chandler has been a monster lately -- evidenced by their 6-1 record without Eddie.

JO should be back and Crazy Ron...they're still working on Stern.

If O'Neal is back and Curry isn't for the Bulls, I'd agree that the Pacers should be favorites.
