The Pirates being on top of the division is certainly an unexpected development.  I don't expect it to continue, but they are off to a very nice start.  If I had to root for another team to win the NL Central though, it would be them.

It was better.  He wasn't living in the middle-middle of the plate as much, but he was giving up some hard contact.  Carpenter and Tatis both hit balls to the gap in RCF that would have been gone most days.  I'll take the results and hopefully he can build on this appearance.

They’re more than welcome to stay in first as long as the Cardinals remain where they are as well.

Me too. I love the city of Pittsburgh and the stadium is great. Good fans who deserve a winner.

All in all 3-4 homestand stinks but given the competition I’ll allow it. 8-5 during a stretch where we played the Dodgers and Padres 10 times is nice
